ABOUT THE COMPOSERS:
Motion MusicWorks is the collaboration effort of composers Adam Irizarry (based in Los Angeles) and Nick Saya (based in New York). These versatile composers are comfortable in any genre of composition and arranging, be it traditional score, modern electronica, jazz, rock, cutting edge soundscapes and sound design or a hybrid of all of these.
Adam Irizarry began playing piano at the age of 2. Born with perfect pitch, he was destined for a career in music from birth. He performed as a pianist and vocalist worldwide throughout his youth, and recently graduated from the Manhattan School of Music where he studied piano performance and composition, and was awarded the Eubie Blake Scholarship. In 2003, Adam starred in the Broadway show "Movin Out" as "The Piano Man". His debut album will be released at the end of 2004. Some clips from the album can be heard at http://www.adamirizarry.com. He received honorable mention twice in the Billboard National Songwriting Contest. Adam has worked with renowned film composer Angelo Badalamenti, and has on his own scored several independent films, a television pilot, and a multimedia CD Rom presentation. Based in Los Angeles as of August 2004, Adam continues to create original music and sound design for film, television and multimedia.
Nick Saya got his education at Berklee School of Music, and is a multi talented drummer, percussionist, producer, arranger and writer. He has played and recorded with Blood Sweat and Tears, Tom Bones Malone, Lew Soloff, Alan Rubin, Lou Marini, Hiram Bullock, Steve Logan, Lenny Pickett, Gloria Gaynor, Gordan Gaines, and Chris Baron (The Spin Doctors). Nick was signed to SPV Records with his original band Ghost Of A God, which was produced and engineered by Leif Masses (Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck, Black Sabbath, etc.) and he now plays with The Annie Minogue Band, which has recently opened for David Lee Roth on several occasions. He also has several independent films and some prominent jingle work to his credit, and "Apple" and "Power FX" have licensed loops that Nick has performed, recorded and produced for their drumming libraries. Nick's studio is based in the New York Metro area.
The two composers compliment each other significantly, and in 2003 they joined forces to form Motion MusicWorks. Both certified and experienced recording engineers as well, the pair utilizes their state of the art studios, which are linked between LA and New York via an ultra high-speed connection, to collaborate and realize their creations. The New York facility, with over 2500 square feet of recording space can even accommodate a full size orchestra.
Available as a team, or individually, these young composers have their palms on the pavement of the very latest trends in composing, sound design, and contemporary music, while maintaining a close connection to and understanding of the most classic and traditional film scoring techniques.
